Dizzy Witch Cafe, Northbridge

It was a rainy morning when we ventured to the Dizzy Witch Cafe, I had been there before and had nothing but a positive experience and wanted to try it again!

The place had definitely changed it's decor around since the last time I had been and, as always, it's comfortable, quirky and a lovely place to dine. Although situated in Northbridge the Dizzy Witch is that little bit out of the main strip which makes it ideal for a lazy morning. The highlight is it's one of the few and far between places that do an ALL DAY BREAKFAST! Oh yes!

As I went up to order for the both of us something caught my eye... Chai banana bread! There was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to taste it, so I ordered it along with the Dizzy's Avocado, Tomato & Feta (with extra poached eggs) and D's poached eggs on toast with a side of potato rosti's.

There's something special about toasted banana bread with melted butter. It's a luxury, some comfort food and just hits the food pleasure zones. When there's something extra added like Chai, if you already have a soft spot for the extra ingredient, it creates a whole new meaning to foodgasm. Chai banana bread served on a wooden board did just that!

My breakfast came out looking like a tower of perfection! As I am not a huge fan of tomatoes, or toma-toes to some dear friends of mine, they were a bit much for me. Perhaps because they weren't cooked at all, just cut quite thickly and cold. If you loved tomatoes, I'm sure you would be more than happy with the way they were. The eggs were perfectly poached and I absolutely adore the peppery crispness fresh rocket adds to any dish. The balsamic glaze had just the right sweetness and acidity to complement the different textures of avocado and feta and creamy flavours. I probably needed an extra piece of toast due to the poached eggs added to the dish but it was delicious. D's poached eggs were also cooked perfectly and the side of potato rosti's were crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle.

Sometimes I'm disheartened by the fact that I'm on a hunt for new places and new breakfasts every week, it means I probably won't be back to the Dizzy Witch Cafe for a little bit, but hopefully not too long! I suggest you all check it out and leave me a comment from your experience.
